Massachusetts highschool wrestler dies after medical emergency at observe


Peabody Veterans Memorial Excessive Faculty in Massachusetts is mourning the lack of a student-athlete. 

Freddy Espinal, a 17-year-old wrestler, died final weekend after a medical emergency throughout a observe, The Salem Information confirmed.

Espinal competed by means of a three way partnership between Peabody Veterans Memorial and the Saugus Excessive Faculty wrestling staff and the wrestling membership RRWC.

Wayne Moda, Espinal’s wrestling coach, mirrored on the late teenager’s “larger-than-life persona.”

“I can let you know as his membership and highschool coach, Freddy was a larger-than-life persona on and off the mat,” Moda wrote in a social media submit. 

“He was keen about his household and wrestling, which he labored extremely arduous at after falling in love with the game his freshman 12 months. Wrestling apart, I completely loved him as an individual, he genuinely made me snigger together with his antics and he was dedicated to his teammates and associates.”

Brooke Randall, the highschool’s principal, knowledgeable college students and school members of Espinal’s sudden dying Sunday night time. Randall described Espinal as a “type” human being.

“He was a form, younger man,” Randall instructed Boston.com. “He was a gifted student-athlete and had an infectious smile.” 

The Peabody Soccer Boosters mentioned Espinal will stay of their hearts.

“Perpetually a beloved teammate, fantastic pal and a member of the Tanner Soccer Household,” the group of group supporters wrote in a Fb message. “Freddy shall be missed terribly by all of us and at all times in our hearts.”

Previous to wrestling, Espinal was a youth soccer participant. He performed highschool soccer his freshman and sophomore years.
