The Crimson Tide received the opening toss and deferred. And Vanderbilt instantly drove down the sphere for a 7-yard landing run by Sedrick Alexander to take the lead.
It was the primary time since 2007 Vandy had opened a sport towards Alabama with a landing, and that was Nick Saban’s second sport as coach. Alabama rallied and received that day 24-10.
