The English Soccer Affiliation (FA) has charged West Ham midfielder Lucas Paquetá with allegedly breaching betting guidelines.
Paquetá, 26, is charged with 4 breaches for “affect the progress, conduct, or another side of, or incidence in these matches by deliberately searching for to obtain a card from the referee for the improper objective of affecting the betting market to ensure that a number of individuals to revenue from betting.”
In keeping with the FA, the breaches are associated to 4 matches over his first two seasons with West Ham: Nov. 12, 2022 vs. Leicester Metropolis; March 12, 2023 vs. Aston Villa; Could 21, 2023 vs. Leeds United; and Aug. 12, 2023 vs. Bournemouth.
Paquetá posted an announcement on Instagram Thursday morning in response to the fees.

Paquetá has till June 3 to formally reply to the FA.
