Tony Finau is “very happy” on The Tour.
Days after web rumors ran rampant a couple of potential deflection to rival LIV Golf, the six-time PGA Tour winner advised Golfweek on Wednesday that he isn’t going wherever.
“They’re not true,” the 35-year-old Finau stated of the rumors. “I’m very happy the place I’m at on the PGA Tour and searching ahead to 2025. After I tee it up in Maui, it should all go away, so, I don’t fear about it one bit.”
Antennas have been raised earlier this week when Finau withdrew from the Hero World Problem, which obtained underway Thursday.
Hypothesis then swirled Finau may very well be destined for LIV, the Saudi-backed circuit his good pal, Jon Rahm, moved to final December for a reported $350 million.
A Sunday report from The Mirror advised Rahm, captain of LIV’s Legion XIII workforce, was eyeing Finau for a vacant spot on his squad.
Finau’s spouse, Alayna, then entered the chat with a curious social media video.
Within the clip, which was posted to her TikTok web page this week, Alayna could be seen lounging by the pool whereas mouthing the soundbite, “My life is sophisticated sufficient, the very last thing I would like is extra drama.”
When an article speculating about Finau and LIV seems on the display screen, the voiceover continues, “Hey, drama.”
Finau elaborated on his choice to again out of the Hero World Problem to Golf Week, which reported the world No. 26 underwent surgical procedure in October to take away cartilage from his left knee and restore a torn meniscus.
“From what my physician advised me it was fairly normal clear up,” Finau advised the publication. “He stated it will be useful and so I did it.”
Finau competed on the Presidents Cup in late September.
He and Alayna have been married since 2012 and share 5 youngsters.
