Mystik Dan, the winner of the one hundred and fiftieth operating of the Kentucky Derby, will maintain alive the prospect of seeing one other Triple Crown winner after coach Kenny McPeek confirmed Saturday that the three-year-old colt will race within the Preakness Stakes subsequent weekend.
McPeek Racing made the announcement per week from the 149th operating of the second leg of the Triple Crown, which takes place at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore on Could 18.
“Mystik Dan is properly and acts like he’ll be able to run within the Preakness. I’ve mentioned the choice with homeowners Lance Gasaway, Daniel Hamby, Brent Gasaway and Scot Hamby, and we plan to run Could 18th,” McPeek mentioned in an announcement.

McPeek additionally confirmed that jockey Brian Hernandez Jr. will journey Mystik Dan within the race.
